Ev’s Cyber Utopia Plan

I’ve got a plan, man, listen.

AI is getting really, really good, with new capabilities emerging all the time. Let machines take over our jobs — sounds bad, right? Wrong. Let’s assign all the soul-crushing, 40-hour workweek jobs to machines. All the tasks that consume our time and barely pay us enough to live. I’ve worked in these types of jobs, and I’m confident we can delegate them to machines. It’s already happening at McDonald’s and Amazon Go stores. Machines can handle it, and not just minimum wage jobs. AI can code, manage spreadsheets, send emails, and even engage in high-frequency stock trading. None of us need to be stuck behind a cash register or in a cubicle.

But what will we do? How will we live?

Duh, UBI — Universal Basic Income. The efficiency of machines will significantly reduce costs and increase productivity, leading to massive profits. We can tax corporations that will benefit immensely from automating their operations and redistribute that wealth through UBI. Don’t tell me this isn’t possible; it’s very simple.

There are more empty homes than there are homeless people, but I won’t get started on that — it’s insane. Let’s start with UBI, and then we can address housing.

As humans, we can engage in meaningful pursuits like art, literature, music, gardening, carpentry, dance, or anything else that brings value. Imagine a world where people can do things that truly matter and still make a living.

This whole capitalist, grinding-all-the-time, gig economy, side hustle, front hustle culture is not conducive to human life on Earth. It needs to stop. We shouldn’t have machines create art and churn out generic Drake songs (like human Drake songs aren’t boring enough) ; let them handle mundane tasks like grocery ringing, selling Big Macs, or performing the functions that Microsoft Excel and other software do, which hinder us from fully living. We’ve mixed up the idea of a cyber utopia, man. Come on!

What does the machine think about this?

As an AI language model, I don’t have personal opinions or emotions. However, I can understand and analyze the content of what you wrote. Your text discusses the potential impact of AI and automation on jobs, proposing that machines should take over repetitive and low-paying tasks, allowing humans to pursue more meaningful endeavors. You advocate for Universal Basic Income (UBI) as a way to redistribute wealth generated by increased productivity. You also express criticism towards the current capitalist culture and emphasize the importance of human fulfillment and well-being. These are thought-provoking ideas that reflect ongoing discussions about the role of technology.

Let me include the link of links, featuring PayPal, since there isn’t UBI…yet.
