Okay, I think my brain is slowly starting to come together this morning. I wanted to get a post out since it’s been a few days. I’ve been occupied with a few other things.
Yesterday was quite eventful. I found out that I got the job I had applied for, selling cell phones in a Target store in Brooklyn. The position is with a company called MarketSource, not as a Target employee. I decided to start part-time since I haven’t had a regular job since 2020, and I wanted to ease back into working life. Luckily, they couldn’t Google my name and find 400 posts on this blog about doing drugs in the gutter. So now I am employed and should be starting soon with remote training. This is good news as I have very few dollars at present.
My music teacher, mentor, and filmmaker, Mariano, sent me some footage that will be included in the documentary he’s filming. Obviously, I’m going to pick apart what I don’t like about how I look in the film, but forget that for now. I think it’s cool that I’m talking about my creative process and what it’s like to write. It’s also cool that I mention my blog. Maybe when the film is done and Mariano shows it at film festivals and to his college students, people will be curious about what I’ve written.
We met yesterday to discuss the filming going forward. Now, I’m going to have to dig deep and tell the story I’ve been sharing here on this blog, which, for some reason, I’m not really afraid of. Mariano asked me to make sure I didn’t mind the exposure before I even got involved in the project as its focus. I told him that I’ve been letting things out on Medium for two years, and it’s just a natural extension of that.
I did shoot some footage from the password-protected Vimeo link with my phone and uploaded it to YouTube (about three minutes). Mariano wasn’t too keen on that, so I’ve since taken it down. It’s not like me to have the patience for the long game of work, as I tend to crank out blog posts daily. However, I will share a 51-second YouTube short since he said that was okay.
Oh yes, soon enough i wont need to tell you that you can buy me a coffee, but that day hasn’t come yet: https://ko-fi.com/evr0ck17
