afternoon (3:30 PM)
It’s Friday the 13th. That doesn’t mean anything to me, but it’s still true. I never really got into the slasher flicks, I’m more of a zombie guy. Anyway, it’s time to try to fight brain rot by typing something.
I’m happy to report that my household added 6 new 2 dimensional Capcom fighting games to the vast collection, as today my roommate bought the Marvel Vs. Capcom arcade collection for ps4. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love these games, so, naturally i’m very happy about this. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is in 2nd place for my favorite 2D fighter of all time (right behind Capcom Vs. SNK 2).
I haven’t played much, because there’s something taking away my energy, and I need to take a 2 hour nap by noon every day. Well, now it’s 3:30 and I’ve got a little pep.
in about 2 hours i’m going to walk to an AA meeting, because that’s my favorite part of the day. Not as much the meeting, but the walk (not that I don’t appreciate seeing my new freinds). It’s great, I just find a different way to go every time, and there are always weird things that I find interesting enough to photograph. I always encounter some version of Ganesh, or just elephants (with elephant bodies), it’s interesting.
I just have to decide what’s going to be on my headphones, that’s the hardest part.
evening (9 PM)
I went to the meeting, and got my little one month coin. Someone always asks me if I want a ride home, but I decline because I enjoy my 40–45 minute walks. I walk differently than I did a month ago (especially since I didn't really go anywhere), I hold my head up and greet people as I see them, with a little strut in rhythm with what i’m listening to.
It’s been almost five years since I randomly decided to get on a NJ transit train to New York City because I was homeless, even though it was the epicenter of American COVID.
I’m amazed by this place at least once every day, and I hardly ever even leave Queens. It could be just something interesting written on a wall somewhere, something that I see people from different cultures doing, or something simple like the A train passing above me. Why do you think i’m posting on Instagram every day? I’m excited to be alive in a place that excites me.
It’s nice. It wasn’t always like that
