so heres the deal: i have no musical training. i can write poems that rhyme pretty decently, so if you can play an instrument we could collaborate. we could do it long distance like that one Postal Service album
i like singing, maybe you could just kind of come up with some chord progressions that i could fit lyrics in to and attach it to an email. i dont know how it works. Think Garcia/Hunter.
i don’t have any musical training but it didnt stop me from recording music. i had an old guitar, a keyboard, a loop sequencer app and garageband for mac and iphone (sometimes windows xp sound recorder, if i was in a pinch).
here is what i worked out by accident, some covers, some originals, some funky instrumentals:
one original song about a broken heart that i wrote 10 years ago. a click should get you to the rest of the sounds. maybe you can clean them up a little.
this is an original about living on the street in nyc during a cold winter. it was created on garageband for iphone with a cheap acousic gutar. it has a reprise.
this was recorded on windows xp sound recorder with a broken yamaha guitar and a found bongo loop. it was all i had at the time so its rough. i do like the lyrics, though.
you have to cover bob dylan, its the law! this features a man named Mike Nesti on guitar, and me (ev) on keys and vocals.
This is a cover of a classic reggae song by mighty diamonds, rearranged on gargeband for ios.
this is a cover of a student teachers song made more famous by mike doughty. garageband for iphone
drunken cover of a jerry garcia tune with amanda withey on guitar
here are some grooby instrumentals of attempted funk
the evil robot in question has a sequel
Hey be kind ,i know this stuff is sloppy, but i dont know anything about music.
i have volumes of lyrics that could easily fit into songs.
