Written, yesterday 4/24/24
I know it’s past my bedtime, but I had to stretch myself to meet my housing caseworker to sign something, so I had an energy drink and a coffee. Now I have a whole 2nd wind, besides i’m slowly turning more nocturnal. Besides, I owe all of you more of these little blog posts, and there’s a lot going on.
Today, I went for a tour of my new apartment, which is brand new and absolutely gorgeous. There is no feature about it that isn’t better than any apartment i’ve ever lived in, absolute upgrade in every possible way. plus I get my own bathroom. Plus, get this, my new roommate is this young nerdy kid who is putting his playstation 5 and Nintendo switch in the living room. He was very impressed by my photo with Yoshinori Ono (the director of the Street Fighter franchise), and the fact that my Nintendo and Playstation accounts have hundreds of games on them (from my days working at GameStop). Guess who’s finally going to be playing Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom? If you guessed Ev, you win.
So, my friend Joe who is really into astrology was telling me that there’s some planetary reason for it to be “my time”, as the Capricorn I am. Usually with that stuff i’m just like “yeah, sure, whatever you say boss”, but it’s seeming kind of plausible given the way things are shaping up.

I meant to publish that yesterday, but ended up going to long island to my friend cliff’s house to work on some covers of Grateful Dead and other classic rock songs. Cliff plays guitar and harmonica, and I sing. We were up making music until 4 in the morning.
That brings me to an idea I had, that i’ll leave you with. So, i’ve been using Suno AI to generate the starting point for writing songs. My idea was this: what if I get a separate AI to transcribe the chords into guitar tablature so that Cliff can learn it. working backwards. I think it’s a radically innovative idea, and i’ll get back to you if it works out.
