Long Island Iced Tea
Every single time I pre-gamed a show with long island iced tea in NYC I got thrown out of the show.
The first time was in 2008 when I went to see Phil and friends at the Nokia theater for my friends birthday. I ate all the MDMAI was supposed to sell and had a few long island iced teas at the bar. BAM I got tossed out, I don’t remember anything, but I think I shit on the floor in the hotel bathroom. I don’t know everyone was mad at me, when I woke up. It was a rough 15$ Fung Wah Chinatown bus ride back to south station in Boston.
The 2nd time, and last time I ever drank that shit I went with my Friends to see Phish at Madison square garden during their 2009 fall tour. There is a TGI Fridays, chilis or Applebee's (what's the difference?) near 34th street, and I believe i had 2 LIIT’s with all the Phish fans at the bar. Flash forward to the first set, and I started hopping seats because something about Trey Anastasio just made me want to get closer to him. Well, I got warned one time, and then tossed back out into the December cold around Madison Square Garden.
I remember splitting around 0.3g of raw MDMA with a homeless guy, and then freestyling some rap that I probably lifted from Freeway. The next thing i know there was a circle of ticketless hippies in a circle around me cheering my flow. I don't remember anything after that, but I saw pictures of my friends and I at Dave and Busters in times square on Facebook. Phish came back in 2009 and didn't really hit improvisational stride until around summer 2012, so I'm not that sad i got booted from the MSG show that night, I had a pretty good time rocking a crowd in midtown Manhattan, all wavey on booze and party drugs. I’ve seen Phish at Madison Square Garden more than any other venue, somewhere north of ten times, and ive seen more phish shows sober than fucked up. I definitely got my Phish MSG fix in the front row on lemon night of the bakers dozen in 2017, and then decided I didn't need to see them anymore (even though i did probably 5 more times).
Here is my seasoned concert going advice: avoid long island iced tea if you would like to stay inside the shows that you paid the ticket price to see. That shit will black anyone out with the quickness.
