i think i’m the artsy type, because i get lost in making little things every morning, lately it’s been music. i also think i’m the artsy type because i’m moody and temperamental. yesterday i spilled coffee and it made me freak out and throw things. what the fuck is up with that?
anyway
Today i made a song that i really like, and i’m going to tell you how i did it (as i like to do). here it is:
since i cannot play guitar (but i like guitar) i get royalty free guitar loops from looperman.com, and put them into fruity loops mobile, with a BPM matched drum break, looped for about 97 measures. I then play a bassline with the onscreen keyboard (because i dont have a bluetooth midi keyboard). then i find or write lyrics and go sing them in the stairwell because of the acoustics.
lately i’ve also been playing little guitar parts on the songs. i borrow the guitar from a guy from columbia that i do covers with on youtube. i’m going to link our bob dylan cover from the first night. this is the first take, and my first time trying to drum on a cajon while singing, i think it turned out ok:

when i was living on the street in a boston winter around early 2012 i was writing a lot of poems, going to the library and typing them onto blogger. When i did what i do to make tracks this morning (like every mornig), i went back to blogger and adopted the poem “another prayer for change” into the track i made this morning. I hate all my music a few hours after i make it, so while i’m still excited here it is.

I’ve been making music, without knowing how since maybe 2004, and i think i’m improving lately. check it out
