I still can’t believe that anyone reads this thing, but I am very grateful.
The number of people reading this drastically dropped off for a while, and suddenly they came back. I don’t know if it’s the same people who used to read it or someone different. I’m not sure who reads this thing besides a few people who talk to me about it.
I wonder why. I guess it doesn’t matter. I don’t know if the recent stuff I’ve been writing is any better than anything else I’ve put on here. Maybe it’s because it’s about people that my Facebook friends know (I link this blog every day).
When you write a blog and want people to see it, you have to relentlessly promote it everywhere. I know it’s annoying. My shameless self-promotion even annoys me sometimes. It’s just the way it is. I might actually have something to say, and I want to be heard.
When I started this blog and a bunch of people started reading it, I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t. I still get an amazing feeling from having people read the stuff I write and tell me they’ve connected with it. I’d be a liar if I said that wasn’t one of the reasons I keep doing it almost every day. Of course, I like the process of writing for its own merit, but I definitely want the validation of other people enjoying it.
So thank you! It means a lot to me to get my voice out there as I try to develop one. If you just got here, welcome. Of course, I’m going to direct you to the better past posts and my coffee donation link. Even if you don’t like the coffee thing, you could share this stuff, and that would be just as nice (if not nicer).
