This is the 200th blog post I have added to Evr0ck17.medium.com. When I started last summer, I hadn’t written anything since reviewing a Trey Anastasio show for the school paper at age 17. That’s about 20 years of nothing. I went from zero to 200 In about 14 months.
I love doing this, it does something for me that I can’t get anywhere else. I also love the reactions to the work that I’ve gotten from friends, family and perfect strangers.
200 pieces of raw self expression, with all the typos and grammatical errors. I wanted to open my head up and spill everything out onto a page (screen). I wanted to make people laugh, think and understand mental illness, drug addiction and obsessive analysis of music. I know all the posts can’t be winners, but if I practice every day it gets better, easier and feels better the more I try. When the writing goes well, It feels like I’m not doing anything and the writing writes the writing. Does that make sense? It’s transcendent.
I’d have never started writing without the strangers project being there in Washington sq park. I’d have never kept writing without the incredible outpouring of support on buymeacoffee (RIP), patreon, the comments sections and DMs.
Here is where it started
I have goals for the next 100 posts: I gotta stay sober, man… I want to make audio recordings of me telling my best stories, and I’d like to pick up another 50 subscribers (I think I have around 48 currently).
I organized the work for easy browsing so you can get to the better stuff
Some of it has been featured on medium “publications”, and I still don’t know what that means.

It feels like a small victory to post 200 things and I’m looking forward to writing 100 more.
