‘They don't gotta burn the books, they just remove them”

The burning of books is one of those shining hallmarks of a fascist regime. the literal destruction of facts and information that don't fit into the narrative of who’s in charge…up in flames.

The debate over the 1619 project and critical race theory has been something of great interest to me. having recently watched the eye opening documentary “Exterminate all the brutes”, i realized that what i was taught in history class growing up was very far from the brutal reality of how this nation was built.

the opposition to the teaching of these bloody facts to me is an effort to obscure the truth. i wonder what the difference is between literal book burning and the removal of the facts in educational institutions. aren't facts of paramount importance in a house of learning? isn't gaining factual knowledge the entire point of education?

It’s funny that one of the fox news talking points is that universities and schools indoctrinate people into leftists. i would ask: if you only give students the narrative of history that you find convenient, how is that not indoctrination to your world view?

my point is this: removing the facts about the history of our country is exactly the same as burning books. state control of information to the next generation is a fascist act. that's not a stretch, its very textbook here.

i will confess that i fear that the baddies are winning.
