Here’s the deal fucker, I’ve got some things going on that I Get bothered by And Been thinking that the way that I deal with them is by doing what I do And one of them is writing So what I’m about to do is, I’m just going to post some of the songs that I would never even try to live without I don’t know what I’m doing and where it’s going to go. I’m dictating it speech to text so if you’re looking for the best punctuation maybe you can go check out the New York Times or something.
When I was growing up maybe like the year after high school my friend had a Grateful Dead CD where they cover the Smokey Robinson song and for whatever reason she just listened to it over and over and over and so now I associate it with her anytime I hear it. The Legion of Mary version is so much better though and this is the best Jerry take I’ve ever heard on it.
Just everything about it that I just emoting through the solo and everything man it’s just it’s ridiculous it’s got a little horns to it I don’t know man if you listen to this and you don’t feel something I don’t I’m a little worried about you
So ghost face is my favorite rapper because the reason I respect hip hop is when I listen to him do what he does I understood it finally this was a long time ago but one time I was driving with my then girlfriend from Plymouth to Dorchester where we lived and I heard this song on the radio and I I said listen you’ve got to pull over right now we’ve got to go to Best Buy and buy this album. My personal estimation of what the record is is that it’s him playing a character of like some kind of Trapper like crack dealer type cat that he may have been or may not have been I’m sure he knows plenty of. He says kilo is a thousand grams and I checked it it’s right and then he says he’s here to remember and I have yet to forget this fact
I don’t really know much about George Jones but I heard the song on Mad Men on AMC when I first was getting clean for the first real stretch in 2014 I’ve been watched the show and I just dig it’s message. It seems to me to be about people who had taken some knocks for what they believe in but it didn’t mean they were wrong it just mean that they believe strongly enough to be willing to take Knox for it.
