I know I’m in a phase where I can’t really write, but I wanted to update those of you who have been following along for the past 2 years, or whenever you started reading.
I’m going to start work on Monday for MarketSource. MarketSource is a staffing outsourcing company that sells cell phones in Target stores. I’ll be earning a decent hourly wage plus commission, and I’ll be starting part-time.
I didn’t want to jump right into full-time considering I haven’t worked at all in about 3 years. It just seemed like too much initially.
I was thinking back to the winter when I couldn’t even get an ID. Hell, I wasn’t able to get an ID for the whole 3 years I’ve been in this city. I knew you needed an ID to get a job, and now I have a job working in the same stores where I used to steal the dust off that I was addicted to huffing all day. You couldn’t make that shit up. It feels like things have come a long way… because they have.
Of course, I’m nervous, but I have to remember that I’ve done this before, and it’ll probably come right back to me. We’ll see. It’ll definitely be an adjustment to get back into the working world, but I think I’m up to it. It’ll be nice to have a little money.
